Welcome to Everything But The Closet where we aim to offer you dang near everything except the closet to put your stuff in!

Originally operating as a small shop on Teespring (now Spring) and then Teepublic, EBTC was founded as a creative outlet for the artwork of co-founder Kira Ackerman. Some of her early work includes tributes to military cadences and Dungeons & Dragons.

​

With Kira's artwork, she designs original characters, including costumes, for her D&D crew. She has also been commissioned to design artwork for several Twitch streamers as well as tattoo flash for her fellow soldiers. 

 

But... as much as Kira loves graphic design, she discovered that cosplay and fashion is where her life is currently taking her.

​

Our other co-founder, Nikki Ackerman, has been interested in fashion design since she saw "Pretty in Pink" as a child and has been sewing since she was 7 years old, with a brief break while she was a single soldier and returning to sewing when she had the space for her machine. Nikki has taken commissions over the years for Renaissance costumes. After her last commission, and much discussion with her daughter, they made the decision to transform EBTC from selling t-shirts through a third party to a design company.

Maybe you're asking, "Where does Everything But The Closet actually come in?"

Here's the answer. Kira and Nikki recognized the need for an apparel fabric store when JoAnn Fabrics announced it was closing. Coming in the future will be a brick & mortar fabric store with apparel fabrics and notions. This location will also be home to EBTC.geekedition, the design center of Everything But The Closet.
